LeeAnn,
Can not help a lot but a couple of points: 1. Sullivan Co. Hist. Soc. has
books listing all cemeteries and graves. Go to Sullivan co. web site and
its has address of society and how to obtain copy or look up. 2 Buell is
now Cass. Buell was a very early name. Still Cass is practically
non-existant. No stores, maybe 10 houses. Former Cass twp resident.
hope this helps
Mike

Subject: [InVigo] Seeking Kennedy info for Indiana (have added more details)
Hello! I wrote a while back asking for anyone who had info on
Kennedy's
in
Sullivan County or Terre Haute, Indiana or who knew Kennedy
descendants in
those areas to contact me. I hadn't heard from anyone, but I now have a
little more info so hopefully this will help. These Kennedy's are
brickwalls for me. Also, if anyone has a list of Hymera cemetery,
Sullivan
County, Indiana gravestones, please let me know.
I'm looking for any information on descendants and ancestors of my Frank
Kennedy (my great great great grandfather). He was supposedly born on
October 19th, 1853, and according to the 1900 census, somewhere in
Indiana.
He is said to have died on July 25th, 1931 in Little Rock, Pulaski
County,
Arkansas, but supposedly still buried in Hymera Cemetery in Sullivan
County
(unverified at this point). I thought the wife was Mattie, but there
is
now
some confusion on this matter and I am unsure of his wife's name.
In the
1900 census it shows he was widowed. I have obtained a copy of a family
file on this family which includes more children's names than I had and
also
includes some of their spouses. Unfortunately this was given to me
by my
grandmother who got it from one of the Kennedy's in Terre Haute who got it
from.... and we've lost track. The person did not fill on the "Compiler"
area nor the "Sources" area. I know some of these children are correct as
they were in the census in 1900 with Frank. There are three children
listed
here that are not listed in the 1900 census, because they
would've been
moved out by that time on their own. I will put a star in front of those
that are verified in the census:
Emma, born December 31st, 1882 in IN, married (second) Lewis Hiram Killion
on 16 JUL 1920 in Vigo County, IN
(from
familysearch.org)
*Rosa M., born September 4th, 1883 in Armstead, IL, married 1st Martin
Lane,
second Frank D. Walker on 26 OCT 1911 in Vigo County, IN
*Katie, born October 16th, 1888 in IL, never married?, died November 1978
in
Arlington Heights, Cook County, IL
*Russell Rayfield (my great great grandfather), born March 22nd, 1890
supposedly in Buell, Sullivan County, IN (I could not confirm this in
Sullivan County), married Jeanetta Wilson on 23 DEC 1911 in Terre Haute,
Vigo, IN - he ended up missing, no one knows when or where he died or how.
*Stella, born July 15th, 1892 in IN. Married to a man with the last name
Grissom, first name unknown. She died February 1974 in Sullivan County,
IN.
Frank, birth year/place unknown, marriage unknown, death date
unknown.
Mamie, birth year/place unknown, marriage to a man with the last name
Kisner, first name unknown, death date unknown.
Russell Rayfield Kennedy and Jeanetta Wilson had a few children - one
being
Robert Rayfield Kennedy (he is my great grandfather). First he
married
Mary
Katherine Leslie, then Gail Conover. Robert Rayfield Kennedy was
born
12
FEB 1915 in Terre Haute, Indiana. He married Mary Katherine Leslie
on 1
MAY
1935 in Terre Haute, IN. I do not know the marriage date to his
second
wife
Gail. He died 16 MAR 1974 in Terre Haute, IN. They only had one
child -
Phyllis Kennedy. I know how to contact her, she's my grandma :) Do not
know the children of Robert and Gail.
I still realize this is a longshot, but why not atleast try :)?
