Dear Vigo Researchers:
Thanks, I have been searching for several days.
I need help in finding a source for the cemetery records for many cemetery
locations that are not city or Vigo Co. owned and operated. My cousins and
I have now gathered many obits and Bible death dates that are for what we
must presume were burials that ocurred in privately held cemeteries during
the 1818-1920 time frame. Have these cemeteries been recorded and
published and where do we purchase?
We are now in need of records for baptisms and marriages that were in an
early Baptist ( existing in 1840) and a Methodist church (1855) in Vigo.
Can someone give suggestions of contacts for these or have they been
archived locally? The IN Baptist archive has been contacted and has nothing
from Terre Haute.
I would also like to join a Vigo Co. Genealogical club and need this
information.
Thank you all for your help.

I just talked to Kim Holly this morning. She asked me to let
everyone
know that her computer suffered a nervous breakdown and as soon as she
gets it fixed at the computer doctor she'll be back on line.
For those of you on the Vigo list that aren't aware there is also a
Prairie Creek mailing list at
in-prairiecreek-l(a)rootsweb.com
and I would like to invite you to join this one also.
