Sharon, that spooky place was my after school haven for many years - '66-72?
I went to State high from 5th - 12th grade (and lived near Prairieton). I
waited for my ride home (usually Mom) in the basement (juvenile section) of
the library until I was old enough to drive (1972). I still think of Miss
Frances (?) the librarian fondly - she had a post card collection that she
would bring in and share with us periodically. I think I read most of the
books in the basement by the time I was through jr. high!
I'm with you - hardly seems like the "new" library can be 22 years old!
By the way, Susie Dehler is very sympathetic to genealogists - her sister
writes the weekly genealogy column in the Trib-Star (or at least used to).

Library
Thanks for the notice on the remodelling, that's good to know
for those of us
who travel longs distances to get there!!!! Hard to believe
that the library
has been in that location for 22 years!!! Guess I'm telling
my age, but as
nice as the new library is, I sure miss Emaline Fairbanks
Library!!!! As a
little girl, I always found that basement a spooky place!!
