I found a marriage record online for Ray Heidrick b Jan 22 1877 to William Heidrick and Martha Phebus(sp). He married Clara (Middleton) Fitch b Sept, 8 1874, daughter of John Middleton and Clara Humphreys, on Nov 7th 1925 in Vigo county. It has him listed as married 2 times before, both ending with death of spouse in 1903 and 1920. She is listed as having been married once before, ending with death of spouse in 1920. It is entirely possible that Clara went by Mary. Mary was a very common nickname and I have found that many women used it and Nancy even though it made no sense to do so. This record is viewable and downloadable on the Vigo county Public library website for free.
although that doesn't help locate his burial, maybe it will help in your quest for his wife, since it lists the death years for both spouses.
I looked on ancestry and found a Martha L. Heidrick who died March 30, 1903 in Mecca at the age of 21, and a Lucy F Heidrick who died Dec 11, 1920 at the age of 27 in Bellmore. Whether either of these are related, I can't tell, but maybe it will help.
William Heidrick is listed as dying on Jan 19, 1905 in Mecca.
There is a marriage listing for Ray O Heidrick to Martha L Barnes on May 27, 1900 in Vigo County on ancestry as well.
Ray Delmar Heidrick's draft registration card for WWI gives his birthday as Jan 22, 1877 and nearest living relative as Gertrude May Heidrick of Bloomingdale Park and he is listed as a farmer.
1910 census lists Ray with wife Gertrude in Parke County Indiana with children Claude E Heidrick 9, Hazel M Heidrick 7 ,and William A Heidrick 1 6/12.
1930 census lists him in Terre Haute with wife Mary (age 43).
Hope this helps some

I am trying to sort out my husbands family. I know he is related to these pucketts somehow but not sure how. His gggrandfather James Logan married Jemima Puckett. James Logan is supposed to be born in Vigo county. In 1850 James , Jemima and son Elihu were in clay county indiana living next door to Elihu and Rebecca Puckett. By 1860 Jemima was married to Davis Winters and living near David and Leanna Puckett and Lewis and Elizabeth Puckett. Once I get his Pucketts sorted out I can work on my own Puckett line(magina Puckett married to Telghman Nibblett). I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out she is also related to these pucketts as well since she was born in North Carolina. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help identify Jemima's parents

I didn't intend for my statement to be gospel. I was just trying to
give her a suggestion. Coleen didn't take it as gospel, either.

I think it is a dangerous assumption to take Judy's statement as gospel. A
simple Google search of John Scott and Mary Abrell led me to some other
queries on this couple. In the 1860 census they appear in Owen County, IN,
but there is no daughter named Martha with them.
I'd keep digging.

My Martha A., Martha Ann or Martha born abt
1842 possibly Vigo Co IN Terra Haute area.
So her father would have married prior to
1842 possibly circa 1835 to 1840-41. I am
still digging into this mystery.
They had 14 children but No Martha according
to (2) two entries on Rootsweb World Connect
so back to square one. I have a URL for
marriages in IN from early 1830's to 1929 I
am looking into
Unfortunately the lady name of Mary Abrell
is not my John Scotts' wife as they had 14
children and none named Martha/Martha A./
or Martha Ann.
Back to square one.
Using Rootsweb World Connect and John Scott
married 1840 (+/-) 5 yrs came up with the
following:
Mary Robb 9 June 1844 (too late)
Amanda Berry 28 Sept 1843 (too late)
Dortha Fancher ? Possibility
Mary Hannah
daughter Martha born 1854 too late as mine
was born 1842.
Sarah Wray Coons 5 Sept 1844 (too late)
Elizabeth R.L. Whitelock 20 Feb 1840
(?) possibility
will need to e-mail the two who posted this information.
Delila (?) 14 April 1842 (have to case possibly)
will need to e-mail the poster of this one as
well.
Was Terra Haute in Indian Territory before
becoming an organized town? I do not know
much about the history of this area.
Was there a Fort nearby that housed British
Sodiers? Not there at the time that Martha
may have been born but the Fort still stood.
The tallest building may have been a white
church. Flat land as far as the eye can see,
downward drop off with a nice size creek but
the water is not running as fast as it would when in a river. The
Indians lived along the
creek not too far from town.
This information given by a lady who has
been helping me with my Genealogy.

Nancy Boyll and Culbertson Boyll from Pimento, IN were my paternal great - great grandparents. I have spent the last 2 years tracing that line and have some good material. If anyone wants information I am willing to share. Their daughter Nancy (sometimes goes by Alice) was their 10th child who married Enoch McKinney. My grandfather was their 4th child John Enoch McKinney born when they were homesteading in Oklahoma. John E. McKinney married Myrtle South (dau. of Thomas and Elizabeth (Carrico) South).
Thank you for your correspondance

John Scott spouse unknown, who was she?
Daughter Martha A. or Martha Ann born abt
1842/1848 Terra Haute.
Her mother may have been of Native American
Ancestry. Possibly Johns' parents were George
and Emma checking Rootsweb World Connect
comes up "Nothing Found Matching Your Search Criteria".
Martha married spring of 1857 Temple Smith
of Owen Co IN, son of John and Hannah
(Gibson) Smith.
There is a possibility that Marthas' mother may have had a connection
to someone having to
do with Wounded Knee, possibly her family
whomsoever they were.
Please help if this story sounds familiar. I am
looking for a marriage of a John Scott to whomever this lady was. I am
trying to piece
together my dads' maternal grandmothers'
ancestry, she was Charlotte Jane Smith born
abt 1866 IA to Temple and Martha.
I am not trying to sound like a crackpot or
other just trying to trace my ancestry for my
little niece who will be 6 in Aug.
