James Dale Baker, born March 31, 1873, in Vigo County, died June 1, 1957. He married Linnie Ann Shipley on June 17, 1902 in Vigo County. His father may have been Samuel Baker.
Do you know if this Samuel Baker is the Samuel Baker, who married Aurilla Copic, and is the son of Abraham Baker & Nancy Walden?

However, since I don't know the wife of John who was Williams brother and went to Terre Haute, anything is possible. I'll keep your message and see if I have anything in my misc. files. M Calvin

The Brown family I am searching is: John Braun/Brown, married in Penn. The tradition is, the family disapproved of his wife, after a couple of years, he went to Ohio where his sister and brother were, stayed a little while, then went to "the area around Terre Haute". This information from a book written by Brown descendants. There is a story about his war service where he apparently hauled supplies. Then on a trip down the "river" he and his son or son in law both died, apparently of cholera. I don't know where they were buried, nor the name of his wife or children. it was suggested they may have been across the line in Illinois. ANY thoughts, information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! With thanks. If anyone thinks they may connect, I do have the family back to immigration. Margaret Calvin in Ohio
