Vigo County was organized in 1818.
Can you be more specific about what you are looking for as far as Thomas
Dunn? Do you need his parents' names, for example?

Cyndi,
I am a descendant of Joseph Ogborn, George's older brother. George did marry Hester Milligan the 12th Apr 1832, New Lexington, Perry Co.,Oh. In the census, George & Hester lived in Pike Twp., Perry Co., Oh=1840, 1850=Harrison Twp., Perry Co.,Oh, 1860=Washington Twp., Hocking Co., Oh. They disappear but from another source, it is speculated that George died and Hester moved to Vigo Co., Ind with her brother James. From census, I have assorted children's names but have not tracked George extensively since he is a brother to my Joseph. Hope this helps out!
Charlotte,
That marriage is not in the WPA Index I have; the marriage index only goes to 1920. For a 1937 marriage in Evansville, you should probably check out Vanderburgh County; that's where Evansville is.

Web site update 3/11/05
http://www.historic-atlas-series.com/
The Historic Atlas Series has been updated to include township and precinct level atlases from Pennsylvania and Kentucky. By popular request, we are currently digitizing more of these kinds of atlas and map data, and will be adding more in the coming weeks.
Kentucky: http://www.historic-atlas-series.com/ky_map/ky_index.html
Pennsylvania: http://www.historic-atlas-series.com/pa_map/pa_index.html
At the present, atlas CD's are offered from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Missouri, West Virginia and Virginia will be added later this year so please feel free to check back often.
The Historic Atlas Series may be an invaluable aid to Genealogists, Historians and researchers in search of 19th century places and place names. Many early property owners are indicated on the township and precinct level maps making these a great resource for identifying 19th century land ownership.
Each atlas includes the following 19th century features:
* roads, railroads and canals
* cities, towns and villages
* post offices and government sites
* one-room schoolhouses, churches and cemeteries
* rivers, streams and ferries
* industrial sites, furnaces and mills
* early homesteads and farms
* land ownership
- and much, much more
Details on early maps are often difficult to read and these are no exception; however, by virtue of high resolution Adobe PDF formatting, map documents may be inspected at high levels of magnification without additional digital distortion; something that simply cannot be accomplished with paper reproductions and photocopies.
The Adobe Acrobat Reader for MS Windows is needed to view, zoom, pan and print from the PDF map images, and is included free on each CD. No other software is necessary. The map data has been created and configured using the Adobe Acrobat Reader (6.0) for MS Windows (98, 98SE, XP, NT and 2000). The maps may be viewed in earlier versions of the software as well; however, optimum use of the data can be expected using the Adobe Reader 6.0 that is included on each CD.
Best Regards,
Rich Green

Loogootee is in Martin County which is south and east of Vigo . There's a county map on the genweb page; if you go down the Western border of Indiana to Knox County, Martin is two counties to the East. His marriage is not in the WPA index; nor is it included in the Vigo County marriage applications online. Good luck in your research.

Hello Maynard,
My great grandmother was named Emma Felix but we don't know where she was born or married.
She married my great grandfather Charles Stiers probably between 1875 and 1885. They had 5 children, Iva Lucille (the only daughter and my maternal grandmother) and four sons, Stanley, Earl, Clyde and Ervin Stiers.
Emma had a sister named Theresa, so at the very worst, this is an interesting coincidence.
They lived at least part of their lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.
