I am looking for information on Clark McClaflin who married Ruth Starrett in Vigo County. They were my great-great grandparents. He was a brother to Ephriam McClaflin who lived in Crawford County, IL, and I believe also a brother to Mary McClaflin who married Charles Soules, and to Catherine McClaflin, who married Luther Garrett. Clark and family lived in Coles County, IL (later in Douglas County) until the mid-1860's and were living in Lawrence County, MO by 1868. I had not found him in Macon County,IL and would like to know more about it. Some researchers believe that a James McClaflin and Amy Watson McClaflin may have been the parents of Clark, Ephraim, Mary and Catherine. Does anyone have any information? I will share anything that I have.

Yes, Fred and Dora (or Sedora on the marriage record at Marshall, IL) had 7 children: John Jacob, Edward Joseph, Emma Marie, Louis, Esther M, Gertrude and Lillian. All the children were born in Terre Haute and you can get birth records from St. Josseph's and St. Benedict's Churches. Dora's father was Thomas Clugston and her mother Mary (Batson ?). And as you know Fred's parents were Jacob and Lousia Wagerberher. I live in Cloverdale, IN and you can email me at jgibson(a)ccrtc.com if I can help you futher

I am looking for information about my great grandmother Catharine Minnie Mckinsey. I know that she was married to her second husband, Henry S. McKinsey in Fountain County in 1901. She gave birth to 2 children Mildred W. McKinsey (31 Jan 1909) in Vigo County and James Kenneth McKinsey (15 Nov 1911) in Vigo County. I believe that "Minnie" may have died around 1915. I do not know where she is buried. I don't believe that she is buried with her first husband, my ggf Wesley E. Stump in Fountain County, IN. I do not know what ever happened to Henry as well. I am also looking for information about Viola Stonebreaker Stump. This was Minnie's sister-in-law who also ended up in Vigo County after her husband James Stump died. Any information about any of these individuals would be greatly appreciated.

I checked the library site & didn't see this or over looked it. In Vigo Co.,IN, did they have marriage applications before 1917 (like 1885), if so did they contain very much parental information?

I am working on the John Peter Rink line of Washington, Jackson, Daviess, Knox , counties Indiana, There were two seperate Rinck/Rink lines in the state the other line was mainly in Elkhart , Indiana so I am not sure which line the Vigo County, Indiana belongs to?
My line originated in North Carolina, Johnann Frantz Rincke came from Wickenrode Germany as a Hessian soldier in 1776. The other line only came to America in the Middle 1800's and Are NOT related to each other. Please if you can shed some light on these families I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

The Lucy REEVES enumerated in Honey Creek Township is mine. They moved to Douglas County, Illinois; her son, Artemus (my ancestor) married Sarah BEEDLE in 1852.
I believe Lucy was married to Silas REEVES, who was deceased by the 1850 census.
On the Vigo Co., Library page for marriages, there are two listings for a Mary Frances WILLEY, the link for the marriage to Chester Roscoe Gardner, won't open. I keep getting an error message. I've tried over several weeks & no luck. Does anyone have that information? I would like to know what she gave as her mother's maiden name. I can't make out what it is on the other listing for the marriage to "Bolinger"
Thanks, Donna
Can you tell us what happened to Moore's photography plates after he closed
his studio? I live near Dayton, Ohio. Several families over the years
have donated their relatives' studio collections to the Historical Society.
The Society has cataloged some of them and the local newspaper published
some of these. I have found my family in a few of those that were shot
around town on the streets. Marie
