I hope someone out there can help me. I am looking for my great-grandmother's sister, E. Stacia/Stacie Robinson Iden Shepherd who lived in Terre Haute. Family lore says that she ran a boarding house, probably in the 20's-50's. She was born in 1882 in West Virginia, but lived most of her life in Indiana. Absolutely anything will be a great help.
Thanks, Debbie Koon

I am looking for any information on Faulkners who lived in southwest VA (Wythe/Scott Co's) between 1790 and 1850. A David Falkner (and spouse Celia Grizzle) along with David's sister Mary Falkner (and spouse William Grizzle) moved to IN from Scott Co. VA c.1835. David Falkner had 21 children by two wives. After Celia died in 1856, David married Mary Clark in 1857. He and his family eventually settled in Brown Co. TX c.1881.
If you are descended from, know who David's parents were, or have other ancestral information on this family I would love to hear from you. Please email me at landswest(a)yahoo.com

Would anyone on the list know what cemeteries are in Nevins Township and Coal
Bluff Village?? I had a large number of ancestors from those two particular
areas ranging as early as 1840 to at least 1920, if not longer. I would love
to find out where they are buried so that I can visit the cemetery. If
anyone could give me the names of some cemeteries in these areas or if anyone
has transcripts that they could look for my ancestors names, that would be
great.
Thanks in advance for any help on this.
Leslie

There is another record of a John R. Stringfield, b. 27 May 1822 who m. Martha C. Cross Aug 26, 1847 in Morgan Co., IL. They had children Charlotte M. b. ca. 1850 who married Richard Allsop in Dewitt Co. Aug 12, 1866, and James W. Stringfield, b. ca. 1848. John R. died March 2, 1874. If you are able to find John R. and Nancy Weatherman Stringfield in an 1860 census with Charles and Adam plus Charlotte and James W., then these two John R. families are the same, with Nancy being the second wife. John R. who m. Martha had a brother names Charles W., which might or might not mean anything. Finding both sets of children together would answer the question. This John R. (who m. Martha) was the son of James B. and Minerva Stringfield and grandson of John and Sarah Stringfield. There's a lot of info on this family. If you find the children together in a census, please let me know. Happy Hunting!
Could someone please look up a marriage for me between Miles Alexander
Miller and a Cora Davis? I am guessing somewhere between 1890 and 1910,
probably in Terre Haute, Vigo county. Or is there somewhere else I need to
be asking this question? Thanks, Vickie

I need some guidance in finding the owners of some property. The property was located in the 5-W, TerraHaute, Vigo Co., IN. In 1860 the piece of land was occupied by Charles Fairchilds, his wife, and sister-in-law. Next home was occupied by Alonzo Foster, his wife (a sister to the wife next door), and his sister-in-law. All these females are believed to be sisters (Gibson surname) and the property was probably originally owned by their parents. How do I find out who they were? Please and Thanks!?

My Knight and Wicklin/e relatives lived in Vigo County about Vigo County, as well as Clark and Edgar Counties in Illinois 1850-1900. Oliver (Oliver James), the son of James and Elizabeth Knight was born and died in Vigo County about 1854-1858. Is there any clue remaining about him? I am also searching for a relative of James Knight born about 1855 named Harvey Knight...Harvey may have been the middle name (? William Harvey Knight). Harvey had a daughter Nema and was related to Jennie and Emma Knight. I would appreciate any links which have been found. Marriages with other families include Howerton, Potter, and Doshier. Thanks.

Saw your posting and wondered if you knew anything of a Lucinda Gibson, born abt 1850 probably in Vigo Co. I believe her parents to be dead by 1860 as she was living with a sister(?) Eliza (Gibson) & Charles Fairchild then. She married a Johnson Hasten in Vermilion Co., IN in 1870, had 5 children and died in 1879.

You mentioned you were looking for obits, I do not have any, but was hoping that you may be able to shed some light on an Alonzo Foster. He was born abt 1829 in Maine, but was married in Vigo Co., IN in 1858 to Harriet Gibson and they were living there still in 1870. It is she that I am looking for info on.
