Hi Theresa,
My ggrandfather's name was Henry Clay Lamb and he had a two brothers, William and George. They were from Kentucky but I'm not sure where the brothers went to. It's possible they may have went to Indiana but I don't know for sure. Sorry I can't help you beyond that. If you are able to uncover anything that points to it, let me know. I'm still having a hard time finding additional info. You can get me direct at davidnwhitmer(a)aol.com

Hmmm. . . I had a great uncle by the name of Hugh Maynard FIELD. He was born 1886 in England; died 15 May 1969 in Vancouver, British Columbia. His father was Arthur Kenelm FIELD, born 31 Jan 1859 (son of John J. FIELD). . . We have a theory that Kenelm and Maynard may be family names, i.e., maternal surnames. This is the reverse of the relationship described in your message, but does make me wonder. . . If you ever find out we're related, please drop me a post! Thanks and good luck.

Would your Milton Earl have any relationship to William Lewis Lamb born October 19, 1921 that married Dorothia Helen Cook circa 1942 in Vigo County, IN? William Lewis died December 23, 1943, Terre Haute, Vigo, IN. I am looking for info on William. Any connection?
Thanks, Teresa
I know that Stran Steel moved to Terre Haute in 1945. They were
a Division of Great Lakes Steel which in turn was a part of National
Steel. There was probably no connection between Stran Steel and Dupont
Steel, at least not when your father worked for Dupont.

For many years there was a company here called Stran Steel. It was a major employer, located between College Ave. and Crawford Sts, and between 13th on the east side
and probably 11th on the west side. I have no idea if it was connected to Dupont Steel.

According to my Marriage Index,
Andrew Lewsader md Mary Nevins June 12, 1859 in Vigo County; Bk 2, Pg 126. They are found the following year in the 1860 census in Vigo, Nevins Twp and interestingly, the columns which show real/personal property show Andrew with $200 in personal property and Mary with $600 in personal and $600 in real property. I don't have much on the Faris line, other that some census information, and a bio. sketch for Andrew Lewsader, which states that his wife Mary is the daughter of Martin Faris. From the census I have a birthdate for Martin as ca. 1799, Virginia. And for Lucy ca. 1810. I have no death dates nor place of burial for either. For their daughter Mary, I have a birth date of Sept. 16, 1838, unknown location, and she was married first to an unknown Nevins and had children, William, Margret, and Mary Lucy Nevins. She second married Andrew Lewsader in 1859 in either Vermillion or Vigo Co. Indiana. Lewsader Children - J. Snowden, Joseph Franklin (my line), Nathan, Hester (female), Susan, Laura, Andrew and Thomas. Mary Faris Nevins Lewsader died in LaRussell, Lawrence Co. Missouri, May 3, 1916.

Hello, I am new to this list. Looking for info on my
GGG-Grandfather, Charles Wesley Munyon, son of George
Munyon and Rachel Penrod. According to his death
certificate, Charles was born April 14, 1842 and died
October 27, 1929 in Preble County, Ohio. He was buried
in Terre Haute, IN. I believe he was married to (1)
Lynn Tanner, and had a daughter, Rachel Munyon (my
GG-grandmother). He married (2) Martha Price, and may
have had some children that died in infancy. He is
listed as widowed on his death certificate. He came to
live with his grandaughter, Grace (Francis) Martin (my
G-Grandmother), in Preble County, OH in his later
years and was living with her when he died. I suspect
there is a family connection somewhere in Terre
Haute/Vigo County since Charles was returned there for
burial. Can anyone help me out with this Munyon
family? I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you.

Hi List,
I am working on my sister in laws line, and find the counties of Vigo and Clay, having much information and some great resources.
I am having problems with one of these two names moreso.
Frank BLANGIN was born 4 Jul 1906, supposedly on the ship coming over from France.
We know he had a younger brother named Alfred, and an older one, Emil born 22 Sep 1905 died Jun 1965.
Frank married Lillian Alfreda "Freda" Howard in either Vigo or Clay Counties, She was born in Brazil, Clay Co in 1910 to Ezra Frank and Lena (Fore) Howard. By the 1920 census She is listed living with her parents in Fayette Twp Vigo. Frank worked in the coal mines for awhile.
Frank and Freda had 4 children, with the second oldest being born in 1934 in Chicago. (Story goes that Freda said she would marry Frank only if they moved to Chicago)
So I estimate they married around 1930, does anyone have access to finding their marriage record? I did check the Vigo on line database, but the years posted, they are not found.
Also I do not know when The BLANGIN family came to the area, there is some talk that the mothers name was Clemence. Also that she divorced BLANGIN and married a WALLEY
The BLANGIN name is not common, and the only ones listed on the web are the ones I put there or SSDI. There is talk that the name may have been changed.
I have searched the Ellis Island site too, with no luck for finding BLANGIN. I have traced the Howard line back into Kentucky, and they are in Posey Twp alot.
Thanks for any help or direction.
