Re: [INVIGO] Stapleton

Hmmm Interesting.
I rememeber the ironworks store in N. Terre Town. Opal Stapleton Maxwell
(grandfathers sister) lived on the side street that the ironworks store
was on the corner of. My grandfather mentioned once when we was down
there (I was about 15 at the time) that he had talked with the owners an
they didnt think there was a connection.
Ed's Grandfather is my Great Grandfather. If you mean Ed Stapleton the
tax assessor in the vigo co. court house. Anyway, I'm the only person in
our family thats researching. Ed gets his info from me, we usually talk
once a year or so. I'll have to ask him about this.
This is how the documents prove out our family line..... (all from
memory, im at work)
John Stapleton (Miami CO, Ohio) gets a land grant for Montgomery Co, Ind
in 1826 (I think)
William Stapleton marries a Cunningham lady in 28 or 29 in montgomery
William shows up in Clay or Park county (next door) with a housefull of
kids in 40 or 50
William's son William marries Elizabeth Mossberger in Clay co
Again a housefull on the census
Son Lenard marries Myrtle Monroney in Vigo
Edgar, Morgan, Opal, Roy (im missing one) are there kids
Ed is the son of Edgar, Ed marries Alice - has Scott, Gary, Brenda,
Deanna
Roy marries Kathryn, has Beverly, Wayne. Wayne was my dad
Of all the lineage of Lenard, Im the only Stapleton GGrnd child to have
boys to carry on the family name.
I get the accualy tree for you this weekend. we'll compare siblings an
such ok ?
Later.... Wayne
