Sure! Most often it is done for religious reasons. My brother and his wife
married in Illinois by a Judge, then in Terre Haute by Minister 2 months
later.
A shot in the dark would be that there was a civil and a church ceremony,
one day apart.

Dear List,
I don't think I have a connection back to Watts Mill yet, but I'm looking. My grandfather CHARLES LEROY WATTS, great-grandfather (probably) SAMUEL C. WATTS, and probable great great-grandfather HENRY WATTS might lead me there sometime. Just thought I'd register as the Watts searcher.
Sally Watts Haithman
Please post what years you are referring to abt this line. I am
trying to find a family for Mariah ? Watts who married Henderson C.
Isbell abt 1848 in Vigo Co IN. They resided in Honey Creek twp.
Thanks, Bettye
Mary Watts married John Wilson in Vigo County. A Moses Watts settled in
Vigo County in Prairie Creek and possibly ran a mill there. It is a good
possibility that this Moses may be Mary's father because John later ran a
flour mill there and Leander Wilson (John and Mary's Son) lived in that
area also. Anybody got these lines besides me?
Kay (Wilson) Diekemper
Looking for descendants of Marcus Throneburg and Hannah
Cunningham? Please email me if your are researching this couple or have
any information on this couple. They were married 4-18-1867 in Edgar
County. Ill.
Elizabeth
Not much flat boating in Tucson, either. Saw a margay there in the zoo. Be
kind to Kitt Peak and keep the lights off. Otherwise, thanks for
responding.

Hi List:
I am doing a one name study on the name COVEY. If anyone has run
across any of these folks I would certainly appreciate hearing from
you.
Thanks in advance for your efforts.

was that one of the children of William COLTRIN married a flatboater...I

Susie, I am trying to locate information on a Jehu (Jahugh or Jahue) Brock,
said to be born around 1821. Lived as an adult in Parke and possibly
Vermillion counties. Not able to locate place of birth. Do you have any
record of this Brock? Thanks, Cathy

Elizabeth BROCK born in 1835 was my g-g-grandmother marrying into my CHRISTY
line. I believe she was the daughter of Harvey BROCK whose father was
Richard. Richard, born about 1765, had 12 children and was on the Vigo County
Census in 1820. Do you have any connection to these BROCKS? Thanks.

You can find reference to the Bennetts in something online on Sugar Creek
Twp. First brick house, etc.
The "something online" may be the history of Sugar Creek I've put online at
the Vigo Co. IN Biographies Project:
http:/www.geocities.com/~prairiecreek/bios/index.html
I'm presently working on the history of Terre Haute, but all other townships
are represented. Also, there are over 325 biographies online.
If you would like to add a biography of your ancestor, I'd love to put it
online! I've found quite a few cousins through the biographies I've written
and/or by putting published material about my ancestors online. If the
material is published, it needs to be written before 1924 to aviod copyright
violations.
Feel free to e-mail me: mailto:kimh@cwnet.com - Vigo Co. Biographies.

Hi. Bennetts were among the first settlers in Sugar Creek township, across
the Wabash. I've misplaced a document. More in a bit.
