If the card states that the body was taken to a residence, then it
probably was. PL is Park Lawn, out by Washington Square Mall on S.
GreenRiver RD. There still were some people who used their home to show a
deceased relative at that time. Helen Zuber Keusch

Subject: [INVANDER] VanBibber funeral index card
Hi,
hoping someone can help me with this. I looked up the index card at
Browning website of Grover C VanBibber
Johann was the funeral home apparently and he was buried at PL which I
believe to be Park Lawn cemetery.
below this information - the card says
to residence of Mrs Appel
1819 S Fares
This was the address of Grover's daughter's mother in law.
Does this mean he was buried out of her house?
The death date was 1949. Was it still a practice to have the remains
at a private residence?
thanks for any suggestions,
Linda
