My gr-granfather (Jacob Zuber) married his first wife (Christina Bangert) on Jul 2, 1857
at Holy Trinity in Evansville. Christina's sister, Anna Barbara Bangert, married A.
Charles "Karl" Hermann at the same time making it a double wedding. According
to the Zuber family stories, there was a picture taken of the two couples. And my first
information had this wedding in Philadelphia as that is where the first Zuber researcher
thought the point of entry in the US was. My research has proven otherwise-- the
wedding was in Evansville at Holy Trinity-- below are a portion of my notes on this:
Anna and Christina had a double wedding ceremony. Anna married Carl Herman and wore a
gown of peacock blue, black and white full skirt, high pointed waist band of velvet
flowing sleeves and rows of velvet ribbon sewn around the cuff bands. (This was from a
picture of the wedding that Anna's great grandchildren have).
A third sister-- Elizabeth (md to a Smith?) was suppose to have gotten married with the
other two, but eloped instead.
Anna died 1913 and was living with her son Charles in 1900 and with her daughter Elizabeth
(md to Adam Wolf) in 1910. Anna also went by Barbara. Is there anyone who can help
me locate that picture?
Thanks so much............. Helen Zuber Keusch
