Sorry, need to clarify a bit of submission stuff...
Marriage, Birth, Death Records -
>>>>I do NOT post records for anyone prior to 1920. -
WOOPS!!!
Birth Records: I do not post records for anyone that was born after 1920.
Death Records: No records for anyone that died after 1960 (Unless you're
sending me a whole cemetery list!) or the person was "old" (your
definition)!
Marriage Records: Up to 1920's--- this way we won't take the chance that
people are living.
Thanks again!
Marsha
PS. Thanks Kathy for bringing this to my attention!

Marsha,
I have several things that I'm looking forward to submitting. Meanwhile, I
know what you meant when you stated this, but you may want to fix this
statement:
I do NOT post records for anyone prior to 1920.

Hi Group,
Thought I'd drop you a note to let you know what's new on the Vanderburgh
GenWeb site! It has a new look that I hope you like. I also want to thank
Chris Myer and John West for their years of dedication to the site. They
did
a fantastic job of gathering information and posting it online for
researchers! I am the new coordinator for the site. I've been working with
the US GenWeb for a number of years with a number of county sites.
For those of you who know me from Warrick County, you might recognize my
navigation structure for sites I manage. I'm pretty consistent with
navigation throughout the site, so hopefully you won't get lost in it! If
you find a link that doesn't work, please let me know. I've been working
on
the site for over a week, and sometimes, even with checking often, a
link
gets missed. Also, I've posted everything that was on the original web,
but
it probably has a new name. If you know of a site that may have
"deep-linked" to the original site, they may get a "404 file not
found"
page
when they go to one of the earlier pages. Sorry about that.
Now, what else is new??? Well. I've added a couple of sections that I need
YOUR help in filling!
First Families - If your family was in Vanderburgh prior to 1900, you can
send me a rft file and I'll get it posted for you with your email address
as
the submitter. Please do NOT enter anyone that was born after 1920. I
will
not post it. There are just too many thieves out there trying to gather
information for identity theft. Send me you information exactly as you
want
it written. I do not make corrections in spelling or grammar. I also
paste
everything into notepad prior to posting it on the site, so you will lose
some of your text formatting.
Cemetery Records - I've posted the wealth of information that John and
Chris
added, as well as some of my own. If you have lists of
"occupants" for the
cemeteries, please send them to me. I'll add them to the pages.
Military Records - I've posted the military regiments from the Civil War
in
the Military section. If anyone has a list of soldiers from the
specific
Vanderburgh Companies, I'd love to add it to the site. If not, that's
okay,
you can send me YOUR soldier to post in the correct section. If your
ancestor from Vanderburgh served in the Civil War, but did not muster from
Vanderburgh, that's okay too! Send me their name and I'll make a new page
for those that served in regiments not from Vanderburgh. If you have
specific documents that you have scanned on your soldier, I'll make them a
separate page in a "Soldiers" section. (Right now, that section doesn't
exist!)
Court Records - I've posted some information on court records. If you have
documents that you've transcribed that were from Vanderburgh Court
Records,
I'd love to have them for this section. I've got some of my
own, but I've
got to look for them!
I've also added some of the "Land Patents" to the site. It's time
consuming
to copy them, so I've only gotten A-C. If you'd like to help,
I'd welcome
it. It's not hard to do, but with trying to finish the site, I just ran
out
of time!
Marriage, Birth, Death Records - If anyone has a transcript of the WPA
records, please consider sending it in to post on this site. I have them
for
the Warrick site and they're just invaluable. If you have people
that
married, were born or died in Vanderburgh, you can send those in to me. I
do
NOT post records for anyone prior to 1920.
Surnames - I've added a surname page, so you can send me your Vanderburgh
(only) surnames. Make sure you send me your name with them though! I will
make a picture of your email address and link your surname to that
picture.
People will have to retype the address in order to send you an email.
Sorry
about that, but the spam generated by posted email addresses is
incredible.
I'm sure you don't want more junk in your inbox!
Take a while and just browse through the site. I'm pretty proud of it!
But.
it's just too small though! I'm hoping that it expands to the
size of my
Warrick site (over 1000 pages). I need your help in getting it there! The
more information we have online, the better off all the researchers are!
One more quick thing. Submitting information to me
If your email doesn't have a subject line and something in the body so
I'll
know it's not spam, I won't open it. Please don't send
attachments without
letting me know that they're coming. Viruses are a nasty thing!
The teacher in me has a hard time with all CAPS in names. Please send your
information to be posted in upper and lower case letters. Remember not to
submit anything that has someone that was born after 1920. I don't post
it.
If you have long lists of names to submit, please alphabetize them before
you send them.
I am looking forward to hearing from each of you! I'm going to work as
hard
as I can with your help, to make this a site a great place to find
information! I hope you like the site! Thanks again to John and Chris for
giving me so much information to work with!
Thanks again!!!
