Are you sure that he was born in TN? I found the following, but it is
dated March 20, 1837 (as stated it was the61st anniversary of the
independence of the United States) and Elsberry would have been only 13
years old. I believe his parents to be Rhodes and Isabella
Rodgers/Rogers. Rhodes was born in either GA or TN, depending upon which
census that you trust. Isabella was born in KY. All of the children
appear to have been born in IN. First see following Land Record for
Elsberry and then see the following census records.

This could be the cousin to Elsberry since we don't know the soldier's
age. Seems too old to be Elsberry's father.

Once again thanks, you can sure tell when someone knows what there doing.
One more thing if you can help. I'm also looking for Elsberry Rogers who
married Jane Martin also living in the same area of the Rodgers family.
Elsberry had a son named Solomon Rogers he married Anna Sarelda Rodgers.
She was the daughter of William and Adline (Hennon) Rogers. Whom you have
helped me with.
I'm trying to find the parents of Elsberry Rogers. He was born in 1824 in
Tennesse died 1864 in Vanderburgh Co. Indiana. He married Jane Martin in
Vanderburgh Co.Indiana on Feb. 6, 1845. I can find census on Elsberry &
Jane and the children. Although I don't quite know how to find info on
Elsberry's parents or if it's possible.
I was lucky enough to have a photo my grandmother gave me of Solomon &
Anna from 1884 from the day they were married. Also is there anyway to go
back to find more information on Nicholas Rodgers? I always thought it was
amazing on both families married both named Rogers/Rodgers.
thanks again,Marv
