Helen,
I'm going into the SAR on Elijah Brazil Stinson, who is buried in the old
Evansville Cemetery. I have also been a member of the Society of Indiana
Pioneers for a number of years for Kirkpatrick, Short, Simler, Mauck. I
could also add the Saulmons if I had the time to document them. The
Pioneers do some nice Indiana trips, but most of them originate in Indy,
which can be a problem if you don't live there.

Hi Jerry, been reading the SAR notes-- what family line will you
go in?
I think there is also an organization known as sons of Indiana pioneers
(sounds like a Gene Autry group, doesn't it?). The Crabtree brothers--
John H. and William (my ggg grandfather) came into IN about 1816-- they
were
here for the 1820 census. If you fit into one of the Crabtrees, I
can
direct you to someone in Mt. Vernon who does belong (from the line of John
H.). I have a few ancestors who were in the Rev., but really haven't
pursued getting into the DAR.
