Hi Jerry, been reading the SAR notes-- what family line will you go in?
I think there is also an organization known as sons of Indiana pioneers
(sounds like a Gene Autry group, doesn't it?). The Crabtree brothers--
John H. and William (my ggg grandfather) came into IN about 1816-- they were
here for the 1820 census. If you fit into one of the Crabtrees, I can
direct you to someone in Mt. Vernon who does belong (from the line of John
H.). I have a few ancestors who were in the Rev., but really haven't
pursued getting into the DAR.

Well, John G. West & Chris Myers, what I would really like to do
is join
an
SAR chapter here in Bloomington, but, since that isn't possible--Bedford
it
will be.
When I was born way back in 1927(ugh), my family and many of my relatives
belonged to the GB Church in Owensville. However, in the early 30's, the
preacher walked out and started a new independent church, taking a lot of
the flock with him, including my parents. I still have Baptist friends
and
classmates in E'ville and, at least one, on the board of Oakland City U.
Thanks for sharing.
