I have about 70 original loose photographs (half are 8x10s & 5x7s & 4x6s) taken
from an album of a family who lived primarily in Evansville, IN. The family names are
Pfister, Bruner, Bauer, Manthey (Matheny), but most of the photos are of Nellie Pfister
Bruner's family, including her children Malcolm & Hester Bruner. Nellie Pfister
Bruner Bauer was born Nov 1883, and died Feb 1977. Nellie married Walter Bruner 1908
& lived Warrick Co., IN. After Walter Bruner died, Nellie married Peter Bauer, and
there are photos of him and them. Nellie's parents were Henry Pfister and Mattie
Matheny.
There are about 20 photos of Nellie and her family and activities, and a laminated copy of
her obituary. There are three or four of Nellie's daughter, Hester Bruner (a nurse,
born 1910) and her obituary (1982). There are three photos of her parents, Henry and
Mattie Pfister, along with Henry's obituary (1861-1948). There are a few Matheny
photos, of Morris and his wife Nancy (he died in 1867), and one of "great uncle"
Moses Matheny. The oldest photos are Cabinet Cards, on heavy cardboard. Most of the
photos (33) are of Malcolm and/or Dorothy (Schoonover) Bruner, and/or their children Terry
L. and Robert, some with grandparents, etc. Included among the papers are newspaper
articles about anniversaries, etc. Malcolm Bruner (born abt.1913) was on a swim team, and
there are photos of him and his friends.
I'd like to get back these photos back in the hands of descendants or family members.
Most of the photos were taken in Vanderburgh Co., but the Pfister ones were taken in Macon
Co., IL. Get back to me at margerice(a)prodigy.net if you are related to any of this
family.
