While browsing through the 1860 Vanderburgh Co. Census, town of Evansville, I ran across
several women with the occupation "Sund. Lady," which I took to mean Sunday
Lady. Or perhaps she sold sundries for ladies?
The enumerator listed "Lady" as the occupation for some other women.
Any ideas?
Check National Archives M653, roll 302, pg 435 or the enumerator's page #37.
I also noted several "S. B. Captains," etc. which I figure meant Steam Boat,
since they were so close to the river.
