Sorry I should have included. We believe he was born William Lee
Johnson but went by Willie for all his adult life and died Willie.

We have searched all census 1900 and on and other data bases.
Several of us DNA match this William Johnson born in Evansville so we
are looking for his parents to find the actual family connection.
There is a crumb that says his parents were Joseph Johnson and Minnie
and that Joseph might have been a river boat captain.
I was just wanting to know if pursuing the actual birth certificate
was worthwhile.
