Hello,
I am trying to find the date of birth for SAMUEL BELL, my ggg grandfather who
died in Evansville in 1852. It is my hope that some kind of death record on
SAMUEL BELL might contain such infromation. I assume he is buried there as
his wife LYDIA GLENN BELL remained in Evansville after that. Are there any
kind of death certificates dating back that far or do you know of any
cemeteries which might have their tombstones listed or anyway of finding such
a grave in Evansville. I believe that they were probably Presbyterians. They
were previously from Ohio Co. and were passing through Evansville from
Missouri on their way back to Ohio Co. when SAMUEL BELL passed away. LYDIA
BELL and her children remained in Evansville after this I am told. I truly
know nothing of Evansville and do not know if these questions are even
capable of being answered. Any information or direction you might could give
would be greatly appreciated. One more question, have you ever heard of the
Sherwood House. I have found that my gg grandfather JOSEPH BELL may have
clerk there for a short time while in Evansville. Thank you so much for
taking the time to read this and any assistance you can give will be
appreciated so very much.
Thank you,
Doug Brown
