If you can find this book:
History of Evansville and Vanderburg County, Indiana
By Frank M. Gilbert,
c.1910
(A reprint was edited and indexed by Bettie Cummings Cook, CG)
There should be a section on law/lawyers/judges of Vanderburgh County
that might mention his name and position.
I don't have a copy at home but if I get out to the library soon, I'll
look it up for you.

I believe that my grandfather John W. BURNS was a district attorney
in
Vanderburgh Co. around 1900 to about 1910. Does anyone have an idea of
how I could prove this? Who or what organization could I contact to find
out?
Thanks in advance...
