Maryjane,
Thanks for your reply to my posting. I am curious as you mention "Julia got
married in Washington Co. to Hiram and
is only found in Vanderburgh Co. in 1850 as a widow to your Johnson
relatives." I am curious, I thought Washington Co. was NE of Evansville, up
near Jackson Co., IN?
My burial info for my Julia HOUSH Johnson/ Pollock is based off the
following:
Julina Pollock Date: Oct 22, 1884 Location: Evansville Age: 82 yr Gender:
Female Race: W Source location: City Health Office, Evansville Source notes:
The source of this record is the book CH-2 on page 8 within the series
produced by the Indiana Works Progress Administration.
Surname: POLLOCK Given Name: JULINA Sex: F Color: W Age: 82 Month: OCT Day:
22 Year: 1884 County: VANDERBURGH Locality: EVANSVILLE Book: CH-2 Page: 8
Fiche: 4273
I have already obtained this DC but it did not provide any additional names
such as informant and/ or parents names as I was hoping. I have already sent
for the marriage cert. for Hiram and Julia. I can't for the life of me,
figure out why Hiram and Julia was in Nebraska in 1860, then back in
Washington Co., in 1870. Then- Julia is supposedly buried in Vanderburgh
Co., Evansville, IN in 1884. This, being a little distance from Jackson and
Washington counties, Indiana.
I must mention also, to add to the mystery, my Julia Johnson can also be
found in the 1850 census in August (just a few months prior to the
Washington Co., IN census you mention), living near other Housh folks, along
with living next door to her 2 twin sons and their families. James (My line)
and Meredith Johnson. -- Like reading a very old "puzzling" mystery!
Regardless, thanks for all the time you have spent in my posting, seems you
gathered quite a bit!

I see nothing to tie Hiram to Vanderburgh Co. If that is true, there is
no relation to Pollock Ave. Julia got married in Washington Co. to Hiram
and is only found in Vanderburgh Co. in 1850 as a widow to your Johnson
relatives. I can't find her before that since only heads of households
were listed prior to 1850. I can find no burial information, but I agree
that she was probably buried in Jackson Co. You might want to send your
query to that list. She must have married Johnson in KY since her first
two children were born there. That must mean that Hiram's son, Hiram, was
born to Hiram's first wife. You probably have all of the following
information, but since I've found it while searching for burial
information, I decided to send it along in case something is new for you.
Your conclusion is right that Julia A. was born a Housh.
