I forgot to mention that Washington County is due east of
Evansville. Please go to the site I'm including and view the map. Area 11
includes Washington Co. Area 9 is Vanderburgh Co. (Evansville)and Pike
Co. Area 10 includes Warrick Co. and Jackson Co. and is smack in the
middle of the two. Gibson Co. abuts Vanderburgh on the north. My
g-g-g-grandfather is also found in two different locations in 1850. All of
the ages, family members, nativity info, etc. match exactly. Don't know
how that occurred. It also was very common for people to go to nearby
counties to get married. I'm not sure why that is. I continue to be
amazed at how much moving around people did in those days when
transportation was much more difficult. You might want to bookmark this
site if you do a lot of searching in
IN .
