I am wondering if anyone has had the same experience I have had with the Vanderburgh
Clerk's office. I have had some difficulty in the last couple of months with requests
for marriage licenses and death certificates (and paid for them), only to be told that no
record exists (and this is when the death date and location is known and is in the time
period when records were kept). I have also requested marriage licenses, only to receive
the names of the person being married and the date. In other words, I believe I am
receiving the actual license, and not the application for the license which most other
parts of the country make available. Am I making the requests incorrectly? In most
locations, when a record cannot be found the payment is returned. That hasn't been my
experience the in Vanderburgh county. Any insight would be appreciated. Karen
