After reading your message, I started a search for John (Jack) Mckinnon. Your Delores
proved to be very interesting. Born in 1911,she was married to men with the following
surnames - Rafferty, Mckinnon, Leisure and Rowe. I found this by researching the Browning
Obituary site. In the 1930 census, Delores is living with her parents, Edward and Elnora
(Nora) Brinkmeyer in Evansville. She is 19 and son Wayne was already born. No husband is
in evidence. It is all scratched out so can't tell if she's listed as married,
divorced or widowed. When her father died in 1940, her name was listed as Delores
Leisure. In 1943 when Jack (John) died, Delores is listed as his wife. Her mother died
in 1963 and daughter is listed as Delores Rowe, living in Colorado Springs, CO.
Delores's brother, Clarence, owned the Brinkmeyer Tavern on SE 8th Street.
Elnora's obituary states that she raised her grandson, Wayne Rafferty. Jack was born
in 1890 and lived in Canada. I haven't found wh!
en he first came to the U.S.; although I can't find him in the 1930 census. I do
have the image of John Alexander's draft registration form. His mother is Sarah
Mckinnon of Toronto, Canada. The form states that John was born in Lucknow,Ontario,
Canada on 3/12/1890.

about John Alexander McKinnon
Name: John Alexander McKinnon
Birth Date: 12 Mar 1890

I'd be glad to send you a copy of the image if you send me your private email address
to merje94(a)yahoo.com. Browning also mentions that Jack had a brother, Howard, living in
England in 1943. My guess is that if John had an earlier wife and child, they were
located in Canada. Oops! I kept looking and just found him in 1920. He is married with
three children.

I SUSPECT THAT JOHN MARRIED AN OLDER WOMAN WHO HAD TWO TEEN-AGED CHILDREN AND THEY WENT ON
TO HAVE A CHILD OF THEIR OWN (CATHERINE) I THINK THAT BECAUSE OF THEIR AGES.
I also have his WW I draft registration card. It lists his birthdate as 3/12/1887 and
listed as being born in Lucknow, Ontario, CAN It states that he has a wife and child (no
plural mentioned) I also think that his age is listed as 43 instead of 33 in the 1920
census by mistake since Mary is older than he is.
