The following database is currently available to the
public for free at Ancestry. However, you have to
search very carefully to find what you want, especially
in Vanderburgh Co! I happened to notice a typo on an
entry for Vanderburgh Co. where it was spelled
"Vanderburch". (Note that Vanderburgh is misspelled in
the description of the database below as well!)
Turns out there are 2,973 (!) entries with this typo
so you have to search for your surnames with
both Vanderburgh and Vanderburch to thoroughly scan
this database.
Even then, I'm still missing some births, though
siblings on either side are indexed. In other words,
use with caution and try all spelling variations!

Birth records for the state of Indiana were recorded
by the county health office beginning in 1882. The WPA
began to index vital records, county-by-county for the
entire state, but the agency was abolished before
it was completed. This database indexes births for
thirty-one of the counties indexed by the WPA. Taken
from copies of the original works from the WPA, these
records will prove useful for those seeking ancestors in
the state of Indiana.
