Dorothy, I am forwarding your note to Lyn Martin at Willard Library and the
Vanderburgh mail list on the Hoffert Mill location. There is usually
someone on the Vander list who can answer questions like this. Their
subscribing address is INVander-L-request(a)rootsweb.com After you
have subscribed, you use the address in the cc box.
Does anyone know where Hoffert Mill was? Dorothy also wants to know if
there are any 1888 fire dept pictures. Lyn, at Willard Library, might
know that.
Willard has a wonder collection of things like that.
Good luck. Original message is below along with Dorothy's email.

Subject: Hoffert Mill Location
You found for me the death date of Frank Poplin in 1886. I sent for
genealogy info on this at the health department and it said he had died at
Hoffert Mill in a boiler explosion. He was a fireman. Could you find out
where this community was located for me please? Also, do you know if any
pictures of the Evansville Fire Department members is available for 1886?
Dorothy
