Message Board Post:
Edward L Stewart was killed in World War II whil;e serving in the South Pacific. I am a
retired American residing in the Philippines. We have been uniting photos of the men
killed in the South Pacific and that are buried or honored at the Manila American
Cemetery. The photos are free to the family and anyone who asks. Also to find the family
we need help on a few things we cannot have access to here. One is the microfilms of the
local newspapers.
We have located the family though of Edward L Stewart of Evansville and our contact is in
Gulfport, Mississippi. We think Edward died as a prisoner of war in the Philippines or
Japan. He is buried in the Philippines at the Manila American Cemetery. Attached is the
photo of his grave. Please help us find a little more info about his military history. A
scan of a newspaper report would be wornderful. We would gladly pay too but our pesos here
in the jungle cannot be exchanged anyplace near for USD. We thank you in advance for
helping us. You can find more about our project at
