Chris;
I am pleased to see your reply to my message board posting.
I believe your Thomas Jenner & Sara Gruen had at least fifteen children; ten who lived
long enough to emigrate to America with the family in 1839. Your Margaret Jenner is their
oldest child.
The eighth child of this family was Louisa Jenner, born in Erdmannhausen on 27 August
1824.
Louisa married Adam Jenner in Vanderbnurgh county, Indiana on 12 March 1845.
Unfortunately, I know little more of Adam Jenner's past, other than family legend says
he also immigrated from Wuerttemberg, and that there was no known relationship to Louisa
(though it is certainly possible, if they were both truly Erdmannhausen Jenners).
Adam Jenner was born 10 June 1810 and emigrated to America when he was 19 years of age.
He lived for a short time in Washington , DC, then moved to Evansville, IN. Whe worked on
the wharf and later was an engineer on steamboats. He was married to another woman named
Louisa (possibly Louisa Weir, I have not found a marriage record) prior to his marriage to
Louisa Jenner. He had a son named John Jenner by his first wife.
Adam and Louisa Jenner are buried in Locust Hill Cemetery in Evansville.
Thomas Jenner and several of his othe rchildren are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in
Evansville.
