I have some microfilm-copied pages in my collections, each showing a particular obituary
that's of interest to me. Well, others have come along for the permanent ride, and I
thought I'd offer those up for reference here on Rootsweb.

(Apologies for the truncated obit, but that's all that was on the page for that one.
Still, a partial is better than none at all. At least you'll know where to go to get
the full obit should it be of interest to you.)
TRI-STATE DEATHS

home here at 6 o'clock this morning. She was born in Henderson county. She is

resided here and for some time was a student nurse at the Henderson hospital. She died of
blood poison as the result of a carbuncle according to work (sic) received here today by

Finally, not an obit, but a bit... :)
COLLEGE PRESENTED WASHINGTON PORTRAIT
A large portrait of George Washington, a copy of the Stuart portrait, has been given to
Evansville college by Mrs. Estella F. Beeler, W.J. and W.S. Flickner, children of Mr. and
Mrs. J.O. Flickner.
The picture, which is mounted in a hand carved frame, has been in the Flickner family for
more than 75 years. A few weeks ago the same persons presented the college library with a
copy of a paper dated 1800, carrying the news of George Washington's death.
More as they are dug up! (no pun intended)
