Hi!
I don't have any Tupmans in my family. But anyway,
from the book "Vanderburgh County Interim Report."
published by the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana, 1994
(This was a survey of 6,670 historic properties, pre-1940,
in Vanderburgh County.)
There is an entry for Tupman Cemetery and an entry
and photo for a Tupman House. The book's map shows
the house to be across the street from the cemetery.
No first names were given in the description of the log house.
25027 N [Notable] Tupman House, 1612 N. Red Bank Road;
Log single-pen, c.1850; Exploration/Settlement,
Vernacular/Construction.
25028 C [Contributing] Tupman Cemetery, N. Red Bank Road;
1846 to present; Ethnic Heritage, Exploration/Settlement,
Religion.
The book "Cemetery Records of Vanderburgh County Indiana,
Volume 1" has transcriptions for the old section of Tupman
Cemetery. There were no Tupmans listed.
I don't have Volume 2. Volume 2 has the entire cemetery.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the origins of the Tupman Cemetery in Evansville?
I am assuming that is was named for one of the Tupman family in the
area (possibly Alexander) and it would be great to get confirmation or
otherwise.
Also, if anyone has any connections with Tupmans in Indiana then
mail me and we can share information.
Regards,
Alan
