Cecilia, I have several Evansville Loewenthal families--William's,
Sampson/Simson's, Leopold's, and Abraham's. I have not done much on your
Abraham's, but here is what I have:

Abstract of his obituary is from the Browning Genealogy Collection at the Evansville
Vanderburgh Public Library, Evansville, Indiana; it gives his name as Julius W.
Loewenthal, died age 65 on 17 April 1924, resided Vendome Hotel [Evansville], died of
heart trouble, cremated. Proprietor of Loewenthal Co., produce dealers; his father,
Abraham Loewenthal organized the business in 1870. Son Roy died during the war [WWI] of
influenza at Camp Taylor. His sister Mrs. L. T. Mayer, of 40 Washington Ave., her funeral
held here. Survivors: wife Mrs. Fannie Gimbel Loewenthal; sister Mrs. Otto Gumberts of
Indianapolis.

died age 61 on 14 July 1922, burial Rose Hill Cemetery, resided 40 Washington Ave.
[Evansville]. He was secretary of Loewenthal Produce Co. on Water St; son of the late
Abraham Loewenthal; member Elks Club and Washington Ave. Temple. Survivors: brother
Julius; sisters Mrs. L. T. Mayer, Mrs. Otto Gumberts of Indianapolis.

"Loewenthal-Loewenthal. Elegant cards have been issued announcing the approaching
marriage of Mr. Herman Loewenthal of this city, to Miss Ella Loewenthal, of Leavenworth,
Kas. The ceremony is to take place Wednesday evening, December 8, at the residence of the
bride's parents, No. 313 Osage Street, Leavensorth, Kas. Both of the young people
stand very high in Jewish society, and the consummation of so auspicious a union is looked
forward to with more than ordinary interest."

She died a little less than two months after her husband's death. Abstract of her
obituary is from the Browning Genealogy Collection at the Evansville Vanderburgh Public
Library, Evansville, Indiana; it gives her name as Mrs. Lute Wile, died 13 November 1916
at her daughter's home in New York; formerly of Evansville, burial Evansville. Her
husband, Lute Wile, former furniture dealer on Main St. died in Sept. Survivors:
daughter Mrs. Fred Birdsall of New York; brothers H. A. and J. W. Loewenthal [of
Evansville]; sisters Mrs. Louis Mayer of Evansville, Mrs. Otto Gumberts of Indianapolis;
son Raymond on the way to N. Y. from Bolivia.
