Virginia, thanks. This could very well be my GGgrandmother. I've found
the estimated ages provided by the 1850 Census to be a year or two
different then ages in later Censi. Given that age anomaly, my Johanna
Maria Ruhoff could very well be the Mary in the Census. These are the
only two Ruhoffs I've found in Vanderburgh, Posey or Gibson Counties.
However, I did find a Ruhoff family in Dubois County which is not out of
reason. Oh well I'll keep looking for the connnection. Do you show any
other Ruhoffs in Vanderburg, Posey, Gibson or Dubois Counties; if you
don't mind looking of course ;-)
