Joe, thanks. I believe that Mary Ruhoff is my GGgrandmother. I only
mentioned St. Wendels because she and Bernard Loeders (Loederbusch) were
married at St. Wendels. Perhaps her family sent her into Evansville for
school. What are the Catholic schools in Pigeon Township? I know her
parents names and where she was from in Prussia. However, I've not
found her family in North America. She was 16 when they immigrated so
she was probably too young to come by herself.
Thanks,
Mike

Pigeon Twp is innner city Evansville.
St. Wendel is on County line but anything in Vanderburgh County should
be Armstrong Twp. St Wendel history says they built a primative 18x20
log school house in 1844 and by 1850 had 64 members but no mention of
any boarding school.
