Thank you SO much! I will get back to you after I have had a chance to sit down and
untangle my "Johns" but I wanted to reply ASAP to let you know I got your
message. When I called to get directions for you the man from the cemetery sent me
printouts with information about all of the graves. This answers a lot for me. John Hass
(often spelled Hasz) was my g-grandfather and his wife was Elizabeth Reis (who I can't
find anything on). She apparently dies ~1888 (I suspect in childbirth as I found a birth
for an infant with no name) and in 1899 he married Bernadina Brandsasse. I assume John
Henry Brandsasse was her first husband and the father of the numerous Brandsasse children.
I plan to call St. Boniface next week to see what records they might have. That must be
a very old church! I am at a loss for what happened to Elizabeth Reis Hass (or Hasz). My
grandfather, Peter Andrew Hass, if also buried in St. Joseph but she isn't with him
either. I would love pictures of!
the stones but please don't go just for me. If you are ever there for other
purposes, keep me in mind. My e-mail address is nruc(a)yahoo.com. If I can return the
favor please let me know. Thanks again, Nancy
