Thank you, Regina. I do intend to call St. Boniface the first chance I get. I also plan
to order the microfilm to read at my local library. Even if the people at St. Boniface
are nice enough to look for you it can me much more informative to browse
yourself......who knows what else you might find!
Yes, the person who I talked to at St. Joseph was very helpful. (phone 812-423-1356). He
confirmed that the person I was looking for was buried there (actually several people) and
then sent me what he calls "family profiles" (or something like that) which his
computer spit out listing the names of each person buried in a family plot with dates,
cause of death, etc. He also printed a map for Mr. McAllister who did the lookup for me.
The only trouble is that the information in his computer was entered by human hand so
obviously dates can be wrong especially on old stones or old records that might be hard to
read. That's why I was hoping someone would check in person for me and my Good
Samaritan did! Good luck to you.
