If you mean Assumption Catherdral, it is no longer in Evansville. It was
torn down and the city/civic buildings are in its place on the north end of
Main Street (Main and 8th, I think). Willard library nearby has church
records from these early churches. Some are in book form-- yeah!
Others are in Latin-- so you have to know a bit of church Latin and have
time to hunt. The folks at Willard are very good about helping. If
you are planning to visit Willard, it might be smart to call and speak to
the head librarian and tell her when you are coming and tell her what you
are needing.
