Before you come, you need to call Lyn at Willard Library-- their number is
on their web page. Lyn is the head librarian of the second floor (all
tri-state genealogy) of Willard. She knows about everything about
whatever you need to know. What families are you researching? Helen

My great grandmother, Stella Felker, is listed as an inmate in the 1900
Census, White Children's home, Evansville. I understand there are
guardianship records available for the time period 1886-1900 and after.
Do these list the child's name as well as the parents and reasons for
change in guardianship? Do the Evansville City Directories of the time
period list children under 18? Do any records of the Children's Home
still exist and are they available through the Library or Courts? I am
planning a trip to the area and would appreciate being pushed in the right
direction to make the most of my limited time.
