Lance,
I reviewed all of the William Anthonys found in the US in the1820
census. The last age category listed is over 45. Your William would have
been about 50. Here are the ones that fall into the over 45 category:
Williamson, TN
Newport, RI
Kent, RI (This one lists a Daniel Anthony living next door).
Guilford, NC
Indiana, PA (This one seems like a good possibility since your William was
born in PA). Living several doors down is David Anthony (age 26 - 45) and
next to him is an Eve Anthony. Her age is listed as 26 - 45 years.
The age of all of the others rule them out.
Maryjane
Dear Maryjane,
It looks as though the William ANTHONY in the 1820 Census in Indiana County,
PA, married a Nancy THOMAS and died there about 1856.
I do not if William met Rachel in NC, or Rachel met William in PA, or they
met in KY. My bet they were in KY, a very poplar place after the
Revolution.
As for Christopher being born in Lousiana, then in that case the family
would be found there in 1820. I do not think Christopher was born in
Louisana. I wonder if what looks like an L is really an I for Indiana?
What does the later censuses say?
At this point any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Lance
