Mary, thank you for all of your information. After many years of researching I am just now creating a tree on ancestry. My great grandmother Kate Henson Weaks was born in "Stringtown" which I think is near Evansville. I have never been able to find out anything about that town. My other line's in Evansville are Hopkins and Farquhar. Lydia Hopkins, daughter of Hiram Hopkins and Matilda Farquhar, married George Washington Henson, son of John C. and Rebecca Wooten Henson.
I just noticed that you have some information about John Henson & Rebecca Wooten's Burial in your tree. I would like to see that if I can.
Dawn

Rebecca Wooten & John C. Henson are my 3rd great grand parents. The information I have is partly from John Henson's bible and also some research I did on the Ingle Family. I didn't have Rebecca's sisters name, just that Rebecca and her sister came with the Ingle Family.
My Ingle research: The Ingle family ( John & Martha Ingle)came to Evansville in 1818 from England, also early Evansville Settlers. Rebecca Wooten and a sister were indentured to this family. Rebecca Married John C. Henson in 1820.
You said that you are a descendant of her sister Susan?

Dawn, I have never found a conection with your John and Rebecca to the other Hensons who were in Vanderburgh Indiana. This line came from Daniel and Sarah Aspinall and William and Mary. They came to IN from KY and NC and VA and eventually settled in Wayne and Jackson Co Illinois then MO. There are so many Johns and Williams it will take years to separate. We have been working on a Henson DNA project through Ancestry which is beginning to separate the lines. From people who have tested so far this line is the Q haplogroup from England and the Viking link to the America's. The more male Hensons that test helps separate the lines. I do have information in my tree on John and Rebecca but they are not linked to my line which branches off of John F Henson and Jane Goodbread. They travel and tie into the Burketts, Slovers, Chapmans. John was the son of William and Mary he fought in the Rev war. He had a large family most of them are in the 1850 census of Wayne Co IL. Mary

My relationship here is through Rebecca Wooten whose sister, Susan was married to William Watts. They came to America in 1831/32 and settled north of the Ingles. You mentioned Rebecca and her sister came from Chestershire as indentured servants of the Ingles; who was the sister? There was a sister Ann who remained in England.

Yes, I'm sure this is the same John Henson. He and his son George were both carpenters who built coffins. I would like to find out if he was related to any of the other Hensons that came to Evansville from England. His bible record does not mention if he came with others or where in England they came from. Most of what I have was copied from his bible by his granddaughter Kate Henson.
John C. Henson was born in England Aug 12, 1796. Came to America arriving Dec 9,1816 in New York. Lived in Washington City until the spring of 1818. He then went west to Evensville, arriving there in June 1818.
Rebecca Wooten (b. abt 1797) and her sister came from Chestershire England with the Ingle family to whom they were indentured servants.
John C. Henson owned an 8o acre farm next to the Ingle Family. So that is how they met. John C. Henson and Rebecca Wooten were married in Evansville, Indiana on Christmas Day, Dec 25,1820.
John C. Henson died Mar 27, 1871 Vanderburgh, Indiana.
Rebecca Wooten Henson died Mar 18 1884 Vanderburgh, Indiana.
Their Children (all born in Evansville) were:
Charlotte Henson born 1822.
Charles G. Henson born abt 1829.
John W. Henson born Dec 1830.
Rachel B. Henson born Jun 1833.
George Washington Henson born Feb 22, 1842.

I am directly related to the John Henson (John C.) and Rebecca Whooten that you have mentioned here, I am related through their son George Washington Henson. If anyone else is related I have some more information about them that was in the family bible, and short biographies for each of them.
