Karen & Don--
Thanks for the great work. I do not want to impose, but I have another Evansville mystery I have not been able to get information on:
James Morgan (born 1868 to Hugh & Margaret McAvoy Morgan in Daviess County IN) moved to the Little Sisters of the Poor facility in mid-1930s and died in 1937. I am seek actual birthdate and date of death on him.

Karen. Thanks for the compliment, but my work is amatuerish compared to yours. Since I also looked at some of he family trees that you did and had an idea his father was named Christopher, I searched the 1900 census for Daviess county for him and he was the first one that came up. Just luck. Don

John,
There is an updated link for the site now and you will need to make a
change to keep the data current.
Here is a link:
http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~thetiethatbindsour/van_ma...
This was a project that I felt could help researchers anywhere with
their Vanderburgh Co., IN research. There are so many folks from KY and
surrounding IN counties who came to Evansville to live and married here.
It most interesting to note where parents were born.
Regards,
Virginia
Virginia, I too am very impressed. You have done an outstanding job.

thanks - its a good start - this is the family of my Great uncle Joseph Bartlett McKee m. I kept telling dad he was nuts! - Dad was right - I was wrong :)

To those of you who so graciously offered tips on finding my Great

Is Gibson in Indiana? I would appreciate the check on Henderson for me
please if it's not too much trouble.
Thanks again.

We have visited Willard Library many times always searching for the marriage
records of my Great Grandparents in vain. We even went through the next
county available at the library thinking that maybe they eloped because Claudia
was Catholic and John was Protestant, but still could not locate their
marriage.
My Grandmother was born in 1890; she was their first child. In 1889, John
("Jack") and Claudia were living with her parents, Charles and Elizabeth
Koehler, on Carpenter Street in Evansville. Jack was the son of Karl (Charles)
Schlauch and Elizabeth Grimm of Evansville. I estimate that they married
between 1887-1890.
The only other clue as to where and when they married may be that Claudia
was born in Elizabeth (Jo-Davies Cty), IL near Freeport and Claudia's parents
were living in Freeport (Stevenson Cty), IL before they moved to Evansville; I
find that the family frequently went back and forth between those 2 cities
over their entire lives.
Perhaps with all the work your team has been doing with typing up all the
vital records, one member just might find this couple; if so, please be so kind
as to let me know the particulars. They must have married because they went
on to have 2 more children, and there is even a divorce dismissal filing at
the courthouse in Evansville.
