I looked for the information you requested and the book at Willard doesn't show him or Jess Cosby of the people he was living with. The Book is called Some Vanderburgh Co. IN. Adoption Records 1864-1941
Sorry
If I come across that name while researching I'll contact you back.

I thought I saw a posting that the Willard Library had a book that had a list of adoptions and apprenticeship's.
I have been searching to find my Grandfather. He was in the 1900 Census in Pigeon Twp or German Twp Vanderburgh with John and Rosa Reese/Reise/Riese family. His name is Jess/Jesse Cosby, he said he was in an orphanage and adopted. He gave his birthdate as Nov 5 or 8, 1888 give or take a few years. He said he was born Henderson Ky but I don't think he was sure where. He passed away in Ohio.He didn't know his parents and was little when adopted but before 1900. There wasn't any records of him in Henderson. I thought maybe anyone going to the Willard Library might look this up for me.Although this is my brickwall and missing piece. I just need to find his birth. I have tried everything I can think of.I am just hoping this will be the key to finding his missing parents.
Thank you Judy

HI--
I am hoping someone can help me, I asked for this before, found it, and forgot to bookmark it. There was a site where you could type in a street number/address for Evansville and this site would have a picture of the house and when it was built. Can someone who has that site send it to me? Thanks so much. Helen Zuber Keusch
