All my information comes from my great-grandfater John Henry Hoeppel. He put together some geneology of the Hoeppel family. I also have many old photographs.
The notes say Burkhardt Hoeppel married Jeanette Feldstedt in Evansville March 2,1891 and they had no children. Burkhardt died Oct.22,1938. I found a postcard to Burkhardt with the address #112 U Water St., Evansville Ind. The postmark is 1907.(Is there an address in the census? He signs it: Best wishes to you and Nettie.
He made notes on all 10 Hoeppel children, If He was working from memory his dates may be a little off. the notes are dated 5/1/71-He was 90 years old at the time.

Dear Michael
I realized you never received my email sent direct when I noted that on the 16 July you still called Josiah Felstead, born in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, England:
"Old Man Felstead, Jr" and did not list either of his two wives. His parents immigrated to New Orleans. Have the name and date of the ship somewhere on file.
Below is a copy of the 13th July message. Co-researcher is Edward Felstead in England. WANTED: Additional FELSTEAD males to take Y-DNA test --- free at Sorenson Labs in Utah --- or at reduced cost under the Felstead DNA Project at FamilyTreeDNA in Texas.

Dear Sue
The researcher who wrote to me is Mike Gough. He is related to the Felstead family through Josiah Felstead, brother of *your* Mary Ann Felstead. Maybe you know him [and may be cousins]. I did a bit more research of the HOEPPEL family branch and they did not seem to stay around Indiana & Illinois. One of the most famous in this line was John Henry Hoeppel. I will just copy some data for you at the bottom.
Hope things are going well for you.
Cheers, Ruth

FELSTEAD genealogy
Dear Mike
Decided to stop further research on this family, because you may have done it already. My co-researcher in England and I have worked together for 8 years on an informal "Felstead GOON" society ["Guild of One Name"]. Edward Felstead and my son had Y-DNA tests which showed no relationship within 1,000 years, but we continue helping each other. Edward could be related to your Felstead ancestors. Yes, I am able and willing to tell you quite a lot about the ancestry of your Felstead family. You have a lovely photograph on the message board of "Jeannette and brother Burk". I cannot tell where "Jeannette Hoeppel" fits into the family, if your photo is of a brother and sister. Could it possibly be husband and wife?
I have one unattached "Jeannette Hoeppel" [whose mother was "Lillie".]. By 1920 Lillie was married to William C Heston, living in Vanderburgh, IN, with Jeanette M Hoepple, 22, in household as "step-daughter". Jeanette, b. 1897 in Indiana was recorded with BOTH parents also born in Indiana.
