On the pictures regarding the Royal Theater, you might contact Willard Libary in Evansville. They have an extensive postcard/picture collection, or perhaps the Evansville museum. Good luck. Helen Zuber Keusch
forever searching the EAKINS, FORD/FOARD, MELTON, WALCUP, SANDEFUR, EZELL, HANDLEY, THOMASSON, ZUBER, GUTEKUNST/GOODART, ANTHIS, BANGERT, LAND, CRABTREE, BENNETT, EDWARDS, REEVES, WOOFORD families--my lines; and on hubby's side the families of MEHRINGER, SCHITTER/SCHUETTER, HOCHGESANG, SCHMITT, HURST, BECHER, KEUSCH, ACKERMAN, BURGER, and HOPF.
Does anyone know where I could find a photo of the Royal Theater. It was
located on Walnut St. (near Canal St.) in Evansville and was built around
1918.

And now here comes Lorance Ziliak and declares his intention to
become a citizen of the United States of America.

That was all they had for that entry. Did he get his Final
Naturalization in Indiana? His name only showed up in the
index for the above entry. I got there a little too late to look in
other books.
Just e-mail your name and address to me and I'll send you the photocopy of the page.

Hello.
I was hopeful someone can help me with obtaining some naturalization records on my ancestor Lorentz X. Ziliak. I've already obtained the final naturalization document from 1860...what I'm interested in are the initial steps "Lawrence" took to become naturalized. These are the papers initially filled out by him which may contain a lot of great info on the family.
I have been able to obtain index info on these first papers and from speaking to individuals at Willard Library, it sounds like the info does exist on microfilm or in some other form at the library.
Here is all the info I have:
Vanderburgh Circuit Court
1843-1846
Volume F, pg. 596
Please help as I live Way out of state and cannot journey to this county. Thanks in advance.

Hello to the list,
Is there anyone on the list that would check for an obituary for a
Cherry Marlene (Salyers) Erkman, or tell me the local newspaper to
write to for that area.
She is a cousin and we lost track when we were very young.
Her parents are Robert Lee & Lucy Ellen (Land) Salyers.
According to records I have found she passed away July 3, 1996 ,
probably in Evansville, Indiana.
Thank you in advance
Vera Burnham

Although I have never lived in Evansville most of my family history is concentrated in your area. I am finding many references to McFerson and Foster's box company but don't know anything about it. I assume they made boxes for the cigar company but don't know for sure. I also have realtives that worked for Helfrich Saw and Planing Mill and Evansville Cotton Manufacturing Company. Thanks for any inside info.

Thanks so much for the info on the Evansville Assessor record sites; to see
the house your ancestors lived in is really a nice feeling...but many of them
are long gone and replaced with major shopping or civic center areas.
For the person who had the property owned by Kent Niemeier: That surname is
in my tree, so thanks for the info...I'm going to contact him.

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has access to a look-up on death date of Elizabeth Mehringer Spindler-- wf. of Andrew Spindler. Elizabeth was b. 1795 in Bavaria, md in Germany, and died after the 1860 census. Her husband died 1862 and is buried at St. Joseph. I am sure he was first buried in the old Catholic cem on Virginia St, along with his wife. They both were probably disinterred when the new St. Joe opened. I cannot find records on her-- they went to Holy Trinity. Elizabeth was a sister to the Dubois Co Mehringers.
Thanks. Helen Zuber Keusch

get the house history? I am looking for the one at 2528 N. Elsas Ave.
Thanks. Helen Zuber Keusch

Not really. Just the property's current assessment record is online.
It does not list the properties history. Just the current owner, perhaps
who they purchased it from and some details of the house, like
when it was built, sq feet, # of rooms.
You can find photos through the Vanderburgh County Assessors Office
http://www.evansvillegis.com/Assrstart.htm
or
http://assessor.evansville.net/search.html
Just do a search for the address of the property or the current owner's name.
(or use the interactive map if you know your way around Evansville. Mapquest might come in handy too.)
When the record for the property is displayed, click "view map"
When the map pops up, there is a little section under it called Parcels,
just click the link under image to see a photo of the property.
There's not many images for properties outside of the city.
Here's a photo of the house you asked about.
