* cities, towns and villages
* post offices and government sites
* one-room schoolhouses, churches and cemeteries
* rivers, streams and ferries
* industrial sites, furnaces and mills

The Ohio atlas includes statistical data and sections on: Agriculture, Canals, Climate Map, Climatology, Colleges, County Evolution, Land Grants of Ohio, Geological Map, Geology, History, Schools and Seminaries, Post Offices, Railways, Statistics and Surveys of Ohio.
Multiple adjacent county maps are useful for identifying 1868 transportation routes, railroads, canals and early Ohio place names. The 25 city maps in the Atlas are much more detailed with many early government and industrial sites including: a variety of mills, cemeteries, churches, schools, asylums, fair grounds, race tracks, business locations, etc.

Hello Bill;
Thanks for the reply.
I have been into several places and don't find many WINTERHEIMER'S.
I only found the one family in Evansville, Vanderburg, Ind.
It is possible that they are from the same family.
Lena Reisinger mar a Winterheimer but I don't know first name
She wa still living in 1961 when a relative died. She was mentioned in
obit as living in Evansville then.
Her siblings were; listed in census and also their father's obit when he
died in Grayville, ILL. 1937.
I found the following Winterheimer's on SSDI in Evansville, Vanderburg IN.
Joyce M. Winterheimer b 30 Aug 1892 d 5 May 1971,in zip code 47712
Evansville.
Anna " " b 17 Sep 1926 d 1 May 2002, zip code 47710
Evansville. In.
above may have been wives of a male Winterheimer.
only 1 male liste there same name.
Walter Winterheimer, b 20 Sep 1907 d Aug 1973 zip code 89105 Nevada
issue Ca.
Lena Reisinger was dau of Henry Reisinger and Lena Pfettscher in
Vanderburg Co In. b abt in late 1870's there.
It seems that this all falls in same time period although you didn't give
any dates.
I will be checking more on that name in some postings in sevaeral places.
The Charles could been a bro or maybe a cousin to the one who mar the
Reisinger.
Maybe some census will reveal them.
I will check the LDS 1880 census and see if they are there and for
Winterheimer's in Ind for 1880. Also now that your last namemust be MACE .
do you know or have a
Albert Mace who mar to an Eliza Prince in about 1870's or late 1860's. ????
They were in Iowa I believe. They had 10 ch. She b in 1850 in Jackson Co
Ind to Caroline Prince. Her father was Thomas Jefferson Brannan there They
never married. He was my Grt Uncle. THis was uncovered abt 137 yrs after
qas was a family secret.
The Mace and Prince mar. was in Iowa. Her mother never married and lived
with her dau and Albert and helped her raise all those 10 ch.

I grew up in Darmstadt, Indiana. I was always told that it named for the home town in Germany of the wife of the founder of "Bauer's Grove", a popular picnic venue in the area.
Hello Cheryl;
Isaw your message posted in WCFT on 1 Nov 2001.
I have the following.;
Henry Reisinger and Lena Pfettscher were there in Vanderburg Co Ind in early 1900's and late 1800's before him. The ancestor came From Hesse Germany.
They had several ch and amount=g them was;
Rosina Marie Reisinger b 1884 in Evansville, Vanderburg Co Ind. She is my husband's granmother.
Rosina's sister. name , Lena Reisinger b abt 1924, married to a Winterheimer probably in Evansville or other place in Vanderburg Co Ind after abt 1940. The first name of the man Winterheimer is unk. but since your's is the only one I find in Vanderburg Co Ind I think he may have come from your line there.
I only see 1 child for your CONRAD Winterheimer but suspect there were more ch in his family probably males which the Winterheimer male could have come from in descendency, to have been the husband of our LENA REISINGER b abt , Both your line and the Resinger line had come from Hesse Germany.
Do you have anymore on this probably some census of Ind of in 1800's and up to 1930.

Hello Chris;
I would also , since you are going to the library need some look up's.
I have a Rosina Reisinger b abt 1884/5 found in Co marrying to Frank
Sylvester miller b 1885 in Posey Co In.
I need the parents of Rosina and they may been in Vanderburg Co around
Evansville or in around Wendel, L Posey Co as the Miller's were. It has been
said that Rosinger mother ( whoever that is) left and divorced her spouce,
_____Reisinger, as he was drinking etc. She couldn;t take care of the
children so farmed them out to other's ( whoever that be) and ended up in
Denver Co working in a hotel or someplace. Unk how Rosina ended up in abt
Grand Junction Co where she mar. But the Miller's were in Posey Co maybe in
Wendel for several generations before as they most are burried in St
Wendel's Church Cem in Vanderburg. They were all Catholic's from maybe
immigration time and before.
Unk who were Rosina's siblings. or Fa Resisinger first name and Mo
full name.
Frank ( Francis b 1884 Posey Co In. ) S. Miller's
fa was John Herman Miller( b 12 mar 1856 Posey Co In, Christened in St
Wendel's Church 20 Mar 1856)
his fa was John Miller b 17 jun 1837 Posey Co In.
I did find a George Reisinger b 17 Jun 1827in Posey Co In abt the time that
the John Miller was also b there above in 1837.
He mar. to a Lena ________, b 16 Apr 1837 in Canada.
The other Reisinger I saw was a Catherine b 30 jul 1920 Posey Co In and
d 1969 and bur in St Wendel's Church Cem.
She had mar a Charles Hurbert Haag b 4 Sep 1914 d 14 Aug 2000 in
Evansville In and bur in St Peters Church Cem in Montgomery Co In.
Maybe some of the above info may help you locate the Reisinger's that lived
in the Posey, and Vanderburg Co's in and or Rosina's parents.
Since the mother of Rosina wouldn't talk about her dad as he was a drunk
as she said and they had lost their farm in Ind because of it and were
evicted etc.
No first name carried down etc in family.
Thanks for any bit of info from anyone. any descendants or knowlege of
these families.

The Evansville-Vanderbrugh Co. Public Libraries are
offering Wireless internet services to patrons at all of their
locations.

There is not much genealogical resources at the branch

microfilm, copies of city directories and a few Vanderburgh
County and Indiana related books.

This is not being offered by Willard Library. Willard has the

But if you are visiting Evansville to do research and need

Wired Internet access is available at East, Oaklyn, Stringtown,
