I am looking for a birth record for
Carrie SCHULZE born in Evansville on 28 November 1856.
Her father, Henry Schulze was supposedly connected to a Methodist church
as an exhorter.
Where would I find such a record.... in church records or at the county
courtthouse?
ANY info greatly appreciated.
Danke,
Joy in CA

Surname: Hankins
-------------------------
Looking for the family of William Amos Hankins b. ca 1861 and married Ada.
William and Ada died in Vanderburgh County, IN. I am just starting this
family and know nothing of them. Thanks for any help you can give.
Hi-- wondering if anyone can give me a little history lesson on Holy Trinity
Catholic Church-- I know it was founded abt 1851 for the Germans coming into
the area (my ancestors). Exactly where was it? I am familiar with
Evansville, but need a reference point-- like near the old L&N depot,
etc....
And I know Catholics had a burying ground before St. Joseph Cem opened
(on Mesker Park Drive) about 1872. I think these bodies buried in the old
cemetery were disinterred to St. Joe Cem. Where was this old cemetery??
A person at Willard told me she thought it was by the St. Joe church on
Virginia ST--- but in the 1850's was St. Joe Church even there?? And wasn't
that a bit far out for the German Catholics of Evansville?
I also have a relative by marriage that was buried in Locust Hill
(1870's) and his wf remarried. She, her second husband, and two of her
children by her first husband were buried at St. Joe. Her daughter was
removed from the old Catholic Cem. So I guess it is safe to assume that
her first husband was non-Catholic? Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi!
Well, the e-mail address for the mayor
and Joe Kiefer does not work.
I forgot to include the address for the Evansville
Courier and Press
Letters to the Editor may be sent to
<letters(a)evansville.net>
or faxed to 812-422-8196.
The Evansville Courier Company
300 East Walnut Street

Letters must be signed and include a phone
number for verification purposes.
Snail mail for letters to the editor would be more reliable
than the e-mail address.
Thanks,
Chris
