Surname: Roquet
-------------------------
I don't have a William or Matilda, but Hugh D. Roquet could easily be William's
father. Hugh D. died in 1921. He should be in Vigo County's 1860 census
and at some point may have gone back to Vanderburgh county. I will keep
this in mind.

Surname: Friel, Hewitt, Mug, Roquet, Wheeler
-------------------------
Jacques Roquet came to Vigo county, In in 1842. There he met the woman
he married, Mary E. Friel. He helped build additions to the Academy at
St. Mary-of-the-Woods, the parish church in St. Mary's Village, then moved
to Evansville where he helped with construction of the Vanderburgh County
courthouse in 1855. The couple had three children: Margaret, Hugh D. and
J. Adolph (1852-1853). By January, 1856, the children were orphans and
came to St. Mary-of-the-Woods to be raised by their mother's sisters Margaret
Friel Wheeler and Grace Friel. What happened to these children?

Surname: CRIMMINS, McDONALD
-------------------------
Hi I just found an obit for John Crimmins b. 1831 in Ireland. It said he
lived in New York for a couple of years and then moved to Evansville, IN.
Vanderburgh, County, and lived there until 1866 when he moved to Iowa.
He married Mary McDonald, who died in 1863. They had three sons, Patrick,
b. 1854, John, b. 1856, Michael b. 1858 and Timothy b. 1863. I am looking
for the place and date of death for Mary and any information on the boys.
Thanks Eileen

Surname: ROBINSON
-------------------------
ANY ONE KNOW OF A CORA (MCCOY) WHO MARRIED HERSCHEL ROBINSON (1918) AND
HAD 3 CHILDREN- ELSIE, FRITZ ED. SHE MAY HAVE DIVORCED HIM AND REMARRIED
AROUND 1925, BUT TO WHOM I DO NOT KNOW. ANY INFO. ON THIS MATTER WOULD
BE APPRECIATED.
Dear List,
If any of you live in Evansville and would be willing to go to the courthouse and
look up one pre-1900 marriage record that I know is in the index that goes up to
1920, I will pay for the job. Please answer off-list. I don't have enough
information to send in a request to the courthouse because I don't remember the
name of the groom or the year. I only know that the record is there.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Susan Jones
Hello to the list,
Does anyone have access to 1910 census or Evansville directories? I have
the 1910 census on order through interlibrary loan but am anxious. I sure
would like directory information, though. I have a time gap from 1900-1910.
I am searching for an Arthur and May Wildt, son Arthur, and possibly
Commodore Everett Thompson. Arthur and/or May might have been associated
with a restaurant. The search period is from 1900 - 1910. In 1911 they are
in St. Louis, Missouri and own a restaurant. After this Arthur disappears,
probably going back to Evansville, and May stays in St. Louis until 1915
when she re-marries and moves to Detroit.
I have only been able to find two Arthur Wildts in 1900 census so far, one
in Michigan and one in Evansville. I have already ruled out the one in
Michigan. This covers a search of Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee,
Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and now Indiana. I would love to hear
from anyone connected to the Wildt family in Evansville. It is very
possible we are closely related as Arthur Wildt would be my great
grandfather. It is also very possible this family knows nothing about the
Missouri connection. My family did not speak of this man and all I've had
to work on is the last name of Wildt.
Thank you,
Janis Wander

Hi All,
Would someone please see if Danville and/or Evansville newspaper(s) had
an obituary for my great grandfather Henry C. March? He died 23 Feb
1934, age 82, in Evansville, IN and was buried in Danville, IL. I am
trying to find the names of his parents and siblings, and the names of
his kin in Danville and Evansville.
I have his death certificate on order from the Vanderburgh County Health
Department.
TIA
