Surname: ZUTT
-------------------------
Dear Bill Boswell
You seem to have the Social Security Death Index record for Margaret Zutt,
probably from Internet:
MARGARET ZUTT, born 23 Feb 1903; died 30 Jun 1998; last residence: ZIP
47705 (Evansville, Vanderburgh, IN); SSN: 491-34-0488, issued in Missouri.
I have discovered that the SSDI - is an IMPORTANT RESOURCE: For help identifying,
or confirming PARENTS, you may use the following SSDI web site [or another]:
http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi - to generate a form
letter to request copy of original application form for Margaret's Social
Security number: Form SS-5, fee $7.00. The form will show you the date
& state of application for SSN, address, date of birth, name of father,
maiden name of mother, and sometimes, first employer, with the applicant's
signature.
http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi
Form SS-5 will answer question of Margaret's maiden name, as well as supplying
her parents names.
You could request a death certificate from Vanderburgh County, IN. That
should also supply name of father, maiden name of mother with places of
birth, for all three. Information on death certificate is less reliable
than Form SS-5, being dependent on the knowledge of the Informant, usually
next of kin . Web site for finding address & fees for vital records in
USA: http://vitalrec.com/usmap.html
Wish you luck.

Children:
William R. b. 5/1895 IN

In McCracken Co. KY there is an African American, Rufe Ising, and another
African American Ising, Charles B. Ising, surfaces in Louisville in the
1909 city directory.
I appear to have two brothers, Theodore (baker) b. 3/1840 Germany, and
Henry (poultry) b. 1/1844 Germany. There is a third family for Henry (grocer)
b. 1845 Germany, that might be a cousin of the other two. Reoccuring names
are Theodore, Edward, William, Henry. All three family lines include a
Theodore, and all three are in related businesses.

Surname: Ising
-------------------------
I am not sure if/of a link the ISING in Jefferson Co. KY. I have a direct
line back to Peter Ising in Vanderburgh Co. I do not have all siblings
of each family. But Ising is not too common of a name. If I had to guess,
I would say there is some connection somewhere.
I know there are some Ising families in KY, but not sure where.
Greetings to all from Virginia!
Can someone please advise me where I can write for an obituary for
deaths occurring in Evansville in 1877 and 1898? Is there a service at
a particular library in Evansville or do I need to hire a private
researcher? Any recommendations? I have exact dates of death.
Thanks in advance for the help!

I'll second that!! And don't forget that there are obits for
lots of folks that may have been connected to Vanderburgh Co.
but had moved and died elsewhere that are also in this database.
I've noticed some have handwritten info added much later about
spouses, offspring or other relation who died. Some have the
actual newpaper clipping either from the Courier or another
paper and some of those have photos. Of course, there are some
that have just the bare minimum of information, too. I have
recently found a TREASURE of information at this site on at
least 6 different family lines, including people who died in
Michigan and Illinois who had at one time lived in Vanderburgh,
Warrick, or Daviess Co., IN. This site gets *2 Thumbs Up* from me!
