I am interested in the medical schools in Evansville, IN, in the 19th century. I would be interested in locating a roster of the graduates or students. My great-grandfather, Alphonso Hodge of Old Salem, Livingston County, KY, was a physician in Hamilton and White Counties of Illinois by 1860. I am attempting to find if he apprenticed or was schooled in the Tri-State area. He was a licensed allopath. His brother, Dr. Peter H. Hodge was a physician and surgeon in Morganfield, Crittendon County, KY in the 1850's.

I am interested to any Hodge or Hodges' families in Southern Indiana that may have had links to Hodge families in Western Kentucky, especially in Henderson, Union, Crittendon and Union Counties.
These counties could have possibly gone under a different name in the early part of the 19th century.

I am searching for these people. My g-grandfather, Raymond Stierer, was the son of Robert Stierer & Ann Andel Stierer. He was on of four children. Mrs. Floyd (Irene) Devilles & Mrs. Ruth Stephens were his sister. The fourth sibling's name is unknown to me.
I am seeking more information on the parents of Ruth Stephens. Such as her parents, grandparents, and siblings. I do family history and have been working hard on gathering information regarding my maiden name, STIERER. I want to present a detailed record for my grandfather. Much family history has been lost. I can recall attending a large family reunion as a child so I know that there are relatives still out there.\
Please contact me with any information. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I am looking for any information on my family. My grandfather, Robert D. Stierer was born 8/1920 in Rushville. He is the son of Raymond Stierer and Thelma Faye (George). Raymond, my g-grandfather, was born 9/1/1898, in Evansville, one of four children of Robert and Ann Andel Stierer. Raymond Stierer went to Connersville, IN in 1916 ti work for Hoosier Casting Co. prior to entering military service in 1917. He married in 01/1920 to Thelma Faye (George) Stierer of Connersville, IN.
The last I knew his two sisters; Mrs. Floyd (Irene) DeVilles and Mrs. Ruth Stephens were both of Evensville in 9/1975. I do not know the name of the four child.
If you have any information please contact me. This is where I have hit a wall in my family search of the STIERER name.

Try asking the VICKERY list at Rootsweb. Subscribe first, though....or ask on the Message Board for VICKERY....Bet someone will reply. There were quite a few descendants of Abner Vickery and his wife, Jereter but don't know if they stayed in the area.

Tim Walls

I only wish I knew. I am researching the Abraham Wells / David Wells families of Gibson/Posey Counties. They arrived between 1800 and 1815 from PA by way of VA and KY. Each family has a great many unnamed children. Joseph Wells of Vanderburgh County appears to be of the right age to be a child of David, and has a child named David. I cannot, however, confirm his connection nor say what became of him. Sorry I can't be of more help.

My great grandfather was JOSEPH LYNN WELLS (born in 1863) in Boonville (Warrick County), married to EVA BOONE ANDERSON in 1863. I believe that his grandparents were JOSEPH WELLS (born in 1818) in Warrick County and ELIZABETH LYNN WELLS. I found a MANNE J. WELLS in Indiana who was married to MARY L. WELLS listed with sons, JOSEPH & GEORGE. Is there a connection?
